A Fresh Look for Gum on My Shoe

If you’re a regular visitor to Gum on My Shoe you might notice things look rather different today. We’ve given our website a new look which we believe is fresh, clean, and easier to find your way around. We hope you agree.

Rest assured, our mission, values, and goals haven’t changed. We’re still focused on sharing honest conversations about mental health and the power of supportive friendships. Those moments of showing up, listening, and reminding each other we’re not alone.

What’s Changed?

  • All our main pages have been reviewed and updated.
  • The contact page has information for guest bloggers. Get in touch if you’d like to write for us. We’d love to hear from you.
  • The old News and Appearances page has been renamed Portfolio to better reflect its contents.
  • The old keyword cloud has been moved to a dedicated Topics section in the side menu.
  • There’s a new disclaimer page.

Where Is Everything?

Top of the Page

  • You’ll find links to the main pages (Home, About, Resources, etc.) at the top of each page. Click “More...” to expand the list if necessary.
  • We’ve published more than 750 blog posts since we started in 2013. To search through them all click SEARCH or the magnifying glass icon.
  • Open the side menu by clicking the three lines (“hamburger”) icon at the top right of every page.

Side Menu

  • Links to our main pages.
  • Icons linking to our social media accounts (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky, Threads, LinkTree, Amazon, and RSS).
  • Direct links to our books on Amazon.
  • An archive of every post we’ve published, listed by year and month.
  • A list of topics. Click an entry to see posts relating to that topic.
  • We hope you’ll never need it but the Report Abuse link allows you to report content you believe breaches Blogger’s Community Guidelines.

Bottom of the Page

  • At the bottom of every page there are links to the home page, our endorsements, and the disclaimer page.

Over to You

A major relaunch involves a great deal of work behind the scenes. Fran and I would like to thank those who’ve acted as a sounding board for ideas, and in particular our small team of testers. You were very thorough!

Most important of all we’d like to thank you, dear reader. Without you none of this would make any sense. We hope you’re as excited as we are about the changes and want to explore further. Take a look around, click through a few posts and pages, and see how it feels.

Fran and I would love to hear what you think; what works for you, anything that doesn’t, and what you’d like to see more or less of. If you spot any typos, errors, or have any technical issues, we want to know so we can fix things promptly. Please share your feedback in the comments below or via our contact page.

Thank you.

Fran and Marty
